Mulireference solution for checking your water tests in sea water aquaristics - not suitable for fresh water.
The multireference solution contains following concentrations (mg/l equals ppm):
Calcium 422 mg/l
Magnesium 1314 mg/l
Potassium 408 mg/l
SiO2 2.1 mg/l
Si(OH)4 3.4 mg/l
Strontium 8 mg/l
Karbonate hardness 6.5°dKH
Alkalinity 2.33 meq/l
Salinity 35 ppm (35/1000)
Conductivity 53 mS/cm (25°C)
Density 1.0233 g/l (25°C)
Instead of a water sample from your aquarium you take the sample from the multireference bottle. Test the sample with your test chemicals (drop test, dipping test, photometer test). The result should be in the range of +30% ... -30% of the concentration given on the bottle of the multireference. Calculate the discrepancies with your subsequent aquarium sample tests. At higer discrepancies there is a mistake by executing the test method or the test chemicals are ruined. Please do not use these tests any longer.
Use only very well cleaned syringes or pipettes to get out a sample from the bottle.
